Politics is very much connected to what goes on in the financial market.
I found this interesting post on twitter discussing that Russia and China have been slowly reducing their transactions in Dollars. De-dollarization has apparently been a priority for Russia and China since 2014 and they have been developing systems to move away from swift and have been intensively using rubles and yuan. They seem to be quite prepared for this event, so this move actually kind of advances their plans if anything.
